What began as the basis of a hiking and biking publication has evolved into the Okanagan’s most comprehensive online repository of singletrack data.

Sweet Singletrack provides you with downloadable GPS and Google Earth files, full-color maps and detailed trail descriptions representing 46 chapters of the ‘book’. In all, this information encompasses well over 100 local trails; N-S between Oliver and Summerland, E-W from Apex Resort to the 201. Numerous bits of local history and interesting articles are also included. A $10 fee entitles you to unlimited website access.

This website is formatted in a manner that renders it’s contents accessible to both computers and wireless devices, including iPhone, iPad, Blackberry & other 3G units. You are thus able to view maps, text and GPS tracks while in the field; cellular reception is described within each chapter. GPS tracks may also be pre-downloaded to devices and used in those few areas lacking reception via caching & software ‘Apps’.

Marin Mt Vision 5.8 – Bike Review

For 2010, the award winning Mount Vision 5.8 gets even better with a lighter weight swingarm featuring narrower suspension links, revised geometry and updated construction. A 68.5 degree head tube angle and lower Bottom Bracket height increase stability at speed while a steeper seat tube places the rider in an optimized position for pedaling. A new aluminum swingarm sheds over 200 grams while a unique smooth weld construction increases frame strength. I fell in love with this bike in the fall of 2007 and and it gets better every year.

Using the Quad Link suspension, this bike offers 120mm travel with the help of a Fox Float RP2 (Rebound Adjustment & Dual Position Pro Pedal Lever).

Exclusive to Marin, the Quad Link suspension features four bolts and four pivots that contain precision-sealed high load bearings carrying a lifetime warranty. A dream 2o years ago… a reality today. Designed to be fully active, there is no ‘lock out’ required on this ride. After the ‘sag’ has been properly adjusted the rider can get a 30 min warm up on the road with no pedal bob. When you hit the dirt the magic begins. With it’s unique design, the Qaud 120 has amazing ‘small bump compliance’ that creates positive chain growth allowing the rider to carry speed over rough terrain without getting out of the saddle. Here’s where it get’s better… along with the Fox ‘Boost Valve’, the design itself has a progressive path that ramps up as you hit the bigger bumps, making it very difficult to bottom out this rig. The 120mm Quad Link is definitely the heart and soul of this ride.

Calling all female mountain bikers… Hone your basic biking skills, practice new tools, strategies and techniques to augment the basics, increase your confidence and competence on the trails.

Join us out on the Kelowna trails for this world class instructed day with one of Canada’s elite athletes turned coach. Small group setting for hands on instruction, practical and applicable terrain choice among similar level participants. You will not feel ‘out of your league’ this camp caters to beginner, novice and intermediate women only. Learn in a safe, friendly and at your own pace environment.
