BMX Open House… Fun For Everyone!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our BMX Open House this past Thursday. There were lots of burgers and great deals on everything BMX. However, the hit of the evening was the FOOTDOWN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP event. Close to 40 riders took part in 2 separate competitions. 9 and under was ‘total points’ taking 3 rounds to decide the top 3. 10 and over included more than 25 riders also with a 3 round elimination, leaving 9 bikes for an exciting main event. Thanks to Gary and Kevin for officiating the event, Denver and Spencer for staying late to help out and clean up, to Dale for flipping burgers, and to OMA for running around and filling in all the gaps. Fun was had by everyone and all profits from the BBQ were donated to the Kelowna BMX Club. Next scheduled open house is for Thursday, November 18, 2010… Winter Backcountry Wine & Cheeser… see you there!

Skills Park Official Opening – Sun July 25th

Sure, it’s been open to the public for a couple of weeks, but we can’t let this landmark event pass without a party. So we’re having one.

There will be demos, a Jump Jam and contest, music, and lots of cool stuff. The Jump Contest will be open to anyone who is an MTBco member, and we’ll be there early to sign people up. Prizes for the jam are being donated by all the local shops. Read more…

BMX Cactus Classic National… June 11-13

ABA BMX Cactus Classic National. This is the 2nd stop on the Canadian circuit for ABA and it’s gonna be a ripper! Up to 500 racers will converge on Kamloops McCarthur Island BMX track in search of points for their respective 2010 seasons. Friday is a double points pre-race with Saturday and Sunday providing National #3 and #4. Click here for details. Supercross BMX frames have arrived

Supercross BMX frames & parts have arrived. EVO iS Expert XL’s, Sammy Cools bars and some sweet Racerhead II stems have made it in the shop. EVO iS Pro XL and some LDC components on their way.

A new Supercross frame on it’s way for 2011. The Supercross BLUR uses the same Geometry and Low Profile of the Supercross ENVY but uses a less expensive 6061 T-4/T-6 Double Heat Treated Seamless Tubeset so it is all of Supercross BMX Performance packed into a more available price point. More Details and specs will be being posted as we get closer to the BLUR’s release date.
